My husband and I went to this law office to start a bankruptcy filing. We paid 275.00 for a consultation including tons of information we did not need and continued on to pay an $850 deposit for John Frey's services. We had ONE meeting with his paralegal. It lasted about 1.2 hours. (And we were charged for 2.2 hours.. one of those was for "Preparing". Then we got a phone call shortly after, stating they could no longer handle our case since we had moved to Maryland. They said they would deduct the expenses up until that day and refund us the rest of the deposit. We got back LESS than half of that deposit. After complaining we managed to get another 85.00 out of them. We were charged for an hour of time(85.00) for "Reviewing Files" We were charged for a 6 minute phone calls SCHEDULE A MEETING or ask a quick question and according to my phone records the calls were 3-5 minutes long. We were charged for the paralegal to talk to the attorney about our "Jurisdiction" .We were even charged 105 dollars for the attorney to "review file" and write a letter explaining the same thing we were told on the phone about being out of jurisdiction... I understand they need to bill for their time.. but this takes it to a whole new level.
